Rotary Program-Dementia-Elly Contreras

After her husband's diagnosis in 2015, Elly Contreras dedicated herself to understanding dementia and supporting others on this challenging journey. 
Upon relocating to Lake Chapala, Elly noticed a lack of resources and support for those grappling with dementia. Fueled by her studies at the Wicking University of Tasmania in "Understanding Dementia" and "Preventing Dementia," Elly is on a mission to raise awareness and create supportive communities.
Elly's training now empowers her to facilitate discussion groups for individuals with early-onset dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MID) — giving them a voice and working tirelessly to dismantle the stigma surrounding the disease.
